A Bohemian Rhapsody
Nowhere else does the best city in the world show so many sides of itself. During the Apartheid years Obs was one of the few areas that managed to cling onto its ‘grey-ness’, everyone belonged! Bohemian Lofts is based in the centre of this little universe.
Obs is truly Bohemian, from students and trade union officials, tourists and artists to festivals and events. Where better to enjoy great craft beer, music, good food, and books? Our hostel is a beautiful old character building, previously a museum of contemporary art. From the balcony, you can survey the life on the Lower Main Rd below you or why not head down to join the buzz. Yes, we are a backpacker (a youth hostel), but we are happy to be a real home to you for a while. We’d love to meet you! Breakfast: Included in our rates is a light breakfast every morning of tea, coffee, toast and spreads. This is available between 7am and 10am. Internet: We offer free unlimited Wi-Fi internet in our communal areas. We also offer free use of our guest computer.
Observatory is the place where the different sides of Cape Town all combine into one bohemian whole, where we are all individual, creative, cool, quirky, fascinating and fun! Our hostel is located at the centre of everything that is happening in Lower Main Road. Our building, a former museum of contemporary art, is one of a kind. You will love its character, personality, and aesthetics. Come and experience our perfect-for-sunrise-watching and perfect-for-people-watching balcony: There are few streets as interesting as Lower Main Road. We can help you make the most of your stay by offering you a great range of exciting day trips such as, Wine tasting, Cape Peninsula, Shark Cage Diving and much more. Thanks to the central location of Bohemian Lofts, it is a perfect home base for travelers, students, interns, medical professionals or outreach volunteers.
