As our backpacker guest you get a discount on our popular guided tours by bicycle, walk or tuk tuk. We also offer free bicycle rentals (after doing our tour) so you can go out discover Soweto on your own. We have amazing street and mural art, pubs and restaurants, craft markets and even our own beer brewery on easy access from our Backpackers.
After a full day of exploring Soweto relax in our “community park” right across the road from the backpackers. Mingle with our community and play with the kids coming to play here after school.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served in our Outdoor Restaurant in our community park. Join us under the lapa, around the boma or just lay down on a blanket for a picnic to enjoy the sun and a home cooked meal. We cook in the outdoors over the fire to create an authentic and delicious meal. On our menu you find Potjiekos (stew cooked in cast iron pots over fire), curries, salad buffets and the South African favourite – Braai (barbeque)
All our tours at 10am and 1pm includes a lunch. The meal is an option of different stews and curries cooked the traditional way – over the fire – served either in a fresh piece of bread called “Bunny Chow”, or with the African popular staple food – pap / maize porridge.

Soweto and Johannesburg Tour
Soweto consists of a community of extremes. On the one hand there is abject poverty and on the other hand there is extraordinary wealth in the upper class suburbs such as Diepkloof Extension and Selection Park. Some of the houses in that area sell for over one and two million rands. Today Soweto is the largest Black residential area in South Africa
