Once in a Lifetime Experience

Situated in Braamfontein, Once in Joburg is an All Star Hostel, providing that same fun and vibrant atmosphere as our other hostel Once in Cape Town.

Our shared dorms fit no more than 4 people, either mixed or female-only, with en-suite bathrooms with shower, toilet and basin. You will sleep in our custom made beds, including a locker with a charging facility for your electronics and a reading light.

Several types of private rooms are also available, including Double Beds, Twin Rooms, Triple and even family-size. 4-Star Hotel facilities are included, such as Air conditioning, Flat screen TV, Tea and Coffee, Hanging Space and a safe. Also, check out our balcony floor.

Free breakfast is included for all guests, served at The Immigrant, our own in-house restaurant.

Our communal space is great to meet new people, plan your trip and even work. Free Wi-Fi is offered throughout the hostel.

Our Concierge service will help you book the best tours & activities from the local red bus, the Kruger National Park Big 5 (Safari), Graffiti tours, car hire and much more.

Braamfontein is the cultural and student hub of Johannesburg. We are close to Wits University, Constitution Hill, the Civic Centre and Newton. Also very near the Museum of Africa, Joburg Zoo, Carlton Centre and the South African Museum of Military History. Not to mention the best Retail Stores, Restaurants, Breweries, Coffee Shops, Bars and Clubs.
