Relax at the Jewel in the Garden

Rocky Road Backpackers is set in a 5 hectare small-holding amidst indigenous forest and open grazing pastures located in The Crags, which is +/- 20 km's (16 miles) east of Plettenberg Bay, Rocky Road is the gateway between the country's Western Cape and Eastern Cape Provinces and is ideally situated to provide superb accommodation for travellers. We are 15 minutes away from the World's Highest Bungy at Bloukrans Bridge and a mere 10 minute drive down a spectacular mountain pass to the unspoiled Natures Valley beach in Tsitsikamma National Park, frequently described as the Jewel of The Garden Route

Rocky Road is far from the daily bustle of urban living. From our well maintained gardens we enjoy spectacular views of the Tsitsikamma Mountain range as well as Peak Formosa, the highest in the range. Our adjoining 3 hectare forest has an easy mini-trail to view our streams, waterfall and rock pool one of the many great spots to chill-out.
Our in house adventure centre, Rocky's Adventures will help you make the most of our nearby ocean, scenic sandy beaches, rugged mountains, river gorges and estuaries, as well as numerous varied wild-life attractions. Whether you want to bungy, sky-dive, zipline over waterfalls, explore some of our hiking trails (such as the famous Otter Trail) or visit many of the alternative attractions on our activity list, there is something for everyone.

But there is nothing tranquil about throwing yourself more than 200 metres down towards the river below. Read More

Jukani Rehabilitation Centre

Jukani provides the predators that live here sanctuary for the duration of their natural lives in an environment where they are respected and cared for, physically and emotionally. The harsh reality is that no predator that has been exposed to human interaction over a period of time, can ever be returned to the wild. However, that doesn't imply that they can be exploited by unethical wildlife facilities by allowing animal touching/petting or any other practise where these animals are exploited for human greed and financial gain only.
