Take a dive on the wild side. You get the chances experience the Big 5 species in their natural habitat at the world famous Kruger National Park, followed by a relaxing few days and exciting diving excursions at some of the world’s most beautiful beaches in Mozambique.

Awesome stops along the way include the Panoramic Route and Blyde River Canyon, which is one of the largest canyons on Earth, and is regarded be the largest 'green canyon' due to its lush subtropical foliage. Later on in the tour, there will be visits to various villages in Mozambique where you can interact with the locals, enjoy local cuisine and shop for unique curios.

The Kruger National Park, other than the Big 5, offers an incredible diversity of wildlife to be discovered, including over 147 mammal species, 517 bird species, 114 reptile species, 33 amphibian species and 50 different fish species.

The warm waters of Mozambique makes the visit the Mozambique ideal for scuba diving and snorkelling in the pristine, famous reefs or even just enjoying a brief swim and taking in the warm tropical sun. Mozambique is famous for its long white beaches which is not overcrowded – the perfect getaway to really enjoy location to its fullest.

You will have the opportunity to see the world-famous sea turtles beach nesting area at Bilene beach, and even spot a turtle laying its eggs.

On this tour you will be able to explore the pristine waters and interesting marine life while swimming amongst Whale Sharks, Manta Rays and, at certain times of the year, even Turtles. There are a wide array of fish species also to be seen.

A Tour Kitty is to be paid to the tour guide in cash upon collection (in addition to the tour price). This kitty is a cash contribution to a central fund and overseen by the travellers and the crew. It helps fund accommodation, camp meals or activities for the entire group. Contribution to the kitty is compulsory.


A Single Supplement is a fee charged to solo travellers when they take a room alone). This is pending availability, so please enquire about this in advance.

Full Itinerary

Day 1:  Panoramic Route

Departing early we make our way east towards the Kruger National Park.  We will stop en route for breakfast (own cost), and then make our way to the Panoramic Route.  We will stop at God’s Window and the world’s 3rd largest canyon, Blyde River Canyon, for some stunning views.  From here we will head to Timbavati Safari Lodge, where we will spend the night.

Day 2:  Kruger National Park

A short drive takes us to the gate of the Kruger National Park for our wildlife experience.  Once through the gates of the park we will be on the lookout for game en-route to our camp, which is in the southern part of the park, and is one of the most popular camps to stay at.

The Kruger National Park is home to 502 bird, 114 reptile and 147 mammal species (including the Big 5 – elephant, lion, buffalo, rhino and leopard).

This afternoon you will head out on a 3.5 hour open vehicle sunset game drive with an experienced and highly knowledgeable Kruger Park guide.  Dinner will be served on your return.

Day 3:  South Africa – Mozambique (Jolly Roger)

This morning starts off with a short game drive, before leaving the park and heading for the border with Mozambique (if you wish, it may be possible to arrange for an optional early morning game drive in an open vehicle with one of the park’s guides (own cost and dependent upon availability).

After border procedures the road takes us north through this awesome tropical country.  There will be short breaks along the road for you to enjoy some of the views before we reach the small town of Inharrime and our overnight stop, Poussada Jolly Roger.

Day 4:  Tofo Beach (OR Barra Reef Beach)

We can have a late start this morning as we only have a short drive to get to Tofo.  On the way we will stop in Inhambane to have a look around the craft markets and also to do some shopping.

Once in Tofo we will organise our diving for the next 3 days. Tofo also has its own food and curio market, well worth a look around, and some great bars where you can enjoy those sundowners!

Days 5, 6, 7:  Tofo (Diving) (OR Barra)

These are diving days, so after breakfast we make our way to the dive school and get ready for the day.

You will have the opportunity to enjoy some of the best diving in the world here: Mantas, Whale Sharks and Turtles are just a few of the special species in the area.  During the months of June, July, August & September the Humpback Whales also frequent the bays along the Mozambique coast.

Day 8:  Zavora Beach

After breakfast we will pack up and make our way to Zavora.  On our way there we will pass through Inhambane to visit the local market and your guide will show you around the town before making your way to the beach.  Arriving in Zavora you can settle in before lunch, and afterwards your dives will be sorted out for the next 3 days.  There will be enough time this afternoon for you to relax and go for a walk along the beach, do some shopping, and watch the locals bringing in the catch of the day.

Days 9, 10, 11:   Zavora Beach (Diving)

These 3 days are for you to enjoy your diving in Zavora.  The Dive School is on the beach so you can enjoy the view of the ocean from the school.  The restaurant also overlooks the ocean.

Day 12, 13:  Bilene

Leaving the beach behind us we travel south to Bilene and the inland lake of this small Mozambique town, arriving early afternoon.  After settling in, you can relax on the beach or go for a walk along the 27km long lake.  Dinner on Day 12 will be enjoyed at the on-site restaurant.

On Day 13 your guide will organize you a boat trip across the inland lake to the beaches of the Indian Ocean, after which your local guide will then take you for a walk along the beach to one of the spots where you might be lucky enough to observe the Hawksbill and Green Turtles which make the Bilene area their home.

Day 14:  Mozambique – South Africa (Johannesburg)

Today we bid a fond farewell to paradise and head back towards the border and into South Africa, arriving in Johannesburg in the late afternoon.
