Awesome stops along the way include the Panoramic Route and Blyde River Canyon, which is one of the largest canyons on Earth, and is regarded be the largest 'green canyon' due to its lush subtropical foliage.

The Kruger National Park is a world of animal wonder! Other than the Big 5, it offers an incredible diversity of wildlife to be discovered, including over 147 mammal species, 517 bird species, 114 reptile species, 33 amphibian species and 50 different fish species.

The warm Indian Ocean that washes onto the Mozambican shores is perfect for water-based activities, and the clear waters are extremely suitable for snorkelling and scuba diving. The wide array of ocean animals include the majestic whale shark, 5 different types of sea turtles, hundreds of fish species, colourful coral reefs and ocean plants.

Mozambique is famous for its long white beaches which is not overcrowded suitable for lazing on the beach or taking a luxurious stroll – the perfect getaway to really enjoy location to its fullest.

You will also visit the bustling local markets where you can interact with the local and buy interesting curios to take back home. This tour is certainly our most tranquil experience, and perfectly suited those travellers who find ocean based activities appealing.

A Tour Kitty is to be paid to the tour guide in cash upon collection (in addition to the tour price). This kitty is a cash contribution to a central fund and overseen by the travellers and the crew. It helps fund accommodation, camp meals or activities for the entire group. Contribution to the kitty is compulsory.



A Single Supplement is a fee charged to solo travellers when they take a room alone). This is pending availability, so please enquire about this in advance.

Full Itinerary

Day 1: Panoramic Route (South Africa)

Departing early we make our way east towards the Panoramic Route, stopping en route for breakfast (own cost). After breakfast we will continue on to the Panoramic Route, stopping at God’s Window, and the world’s 3rd largest canyon, Blyde River Canyon, for some stunning views. From here we will make our way to our overnight stop, the Timbavati Safari Lodge, which borders the Kruger National Park.

Day 2: Kruger National Park

A short drive takes us to the gates of the Kruger National Park for our wildlife experience. The Kruger is home to 502 Bird species, 114 reptile, and 147 mammal species (including the Big 5 – Elephant, Lion, Buffalo, Rhino and Leopard).
After driving to our camp we will settle in and enjoy a hearty lunch. This afternoon you will head out on a 4×4 game viewing vehicle for your 3.5 hour sunset game drive with an experienced Kruger National Park guide. Dinner will be served on your return.

Day 3: South Africa – Mozambique (Zongoene Lodge)

This morning starts off with a 2 to 3 hour early morning game drive with another experienced Kruger guide, after which you will return to camp for breakfast.
Leaving the park we will drive the short distance to the border with Mozambique. Once through the border we will travel north for approximately 3.5 hours before we turn off the main road and head to the beach. Our camp for the night is a beautiful beach lodge by the Limpopo River mouth.

Day 4: Morrungulo Beach

We can have a late start today, as we don’t have a long drive. Why not enjoy a walk along the beach, have a swim in the sea or one of the lodge’s pools, or rent a canoe and drift down the estuary?

Our destination today is Morrungulo Beach, another beautiful spot with some of the most beautiful beaches along the coast of Mozambique.

Days 5 - 6: Vilankulo & Bazaruto Archipelago

The road continues north from here, where the coconut trees take up most of the space in this once forgotten country. We make our way up to the Bazaruto Archipelago, where the islands give you a feeling once only experienced by the explorers of the past. The days here are spent in the fresh air on the beaches of Vilankulo. A dhow trip out to one of the islands will be organized for Day 6, and our local guides will cook us a feast for lunch on the beach!

Snorkeling at one of the reefs in the area is a must, with its many species of fish. Fresh seafood and catch of the day are one of the attractions of this area.

Days 7 - 8: Barra Reef Beach

Leaving the islands behind we make our way back south through the coconut plantations to the town of Inhambane, with one of the best curio markets in Mozambique. After a visit to the market, we will head towards Barra Reef Beach. The warm tropical waters of Barra attract many species of fish and other sea dwelling creatures such as Green and Leather-Back Turtles, Manta Rays and the Whale Shark, the majestic giant of the sea. If you are a diver there will be time for you to do a dive or two in the next couple of days. If you do not already dive, why not try a resort course? And if you would like to learn how to surf, you will have the opportunity to take some classes.

Days 9 - 10: Tofo Beach

Leaving Barra Reef a short drive takes us to Tofo Beach for the next 2 days. The days here are spent lazing in the sun, swimming in the tropical sea, playing beach volleyball and walking down to the beach bar for sundowners. The small town of Tofo also has its own small curio and food market and one or two restaurants where they serve great seafood and other local dishes typical of Mozambique. Your guide will organize your Ocean Safari for you whilst here, which is included in the tour. Tofo also offers you some of the best night life in the area.

Days 11 - 12: Bilene

Leaving the beach behind us we travel south to Bilene and the 27 km long inland lake of this small Mozambique town, arriving early afternoon. Dinner on Day 11 will be enjoyed at the on-site restaurant.
Your guide will arrange a boat trip across the lake for you on Day 12, and your local guide will then take you for a walk to the cliffs where you will have the opportunity to spot the turtles that live in the area.

Days 13 - 15: Swaziland

Leaving Bilene we make our way south to Swaziland, by-passing Maputo, capital of Mozambique. Once through the border the road takes us to the Hlane Royal National Park for the first night. The next morning we make our way to Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary for the following 2 nights. There will be some time for you to do some of the optional activities they offer in Swaziland. Whilst in Swaziland we will also visit the Ngwenya Glass Factory (where you can see the glass being blown), the Swazi Candle Factory (where you can watch the candles being made by hand), and also the Swazi craft markets.

Day 16: Swaziland – South Africa (Johannesburg)

Departing from Mlilwane we make our way through the country and back into South Africa, arriving back in Johannesburg late afternoon, where the tour ends.
