This 7-day tour is mostly based in South Africa’s neighbouring countries of Botswana and Zimbabwe. Experience up close moments with the African White Rhino, followed by an awe inspiring encounter on the grasslands of Botswana where you will herds of African Elephants, an unforgettable river cruise on the mighty Chobe River, ending your tour at the impressive Victoria Falls.

Chobe National Park and surrounds, in northern Botswana, has one of the largest concentrations of game in Africa. The park is widely known for its spectacular elephant population: It contains an estimated 50,000 elephants, perhaps the highest elephant concentration of Africa, and part of the largest continuous surviving elephant population. Other animal include the hippopotamus, African Jackal, the iconic African Fish Eagle (with its beautiful cry), cheetah and various types of antelopes. There is also a good chance of encountering a pride of lions.

Victoria Falls, or Mosi-oa-Tunya (meaning “The Smoke That Thunders”), is a mighty waterfall on the Zambezi River at the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It is also one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world. While it is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world, Victoria Falls is classified as the largest, based on its combined width of 1,708 metres (5,604 ft) and height of 108 metres (354 ft) resulting in the world's largest sheet of falling water. It is a spectacular sight to behold and the sound of the water rushing off the edge, falling down the gorge is a soul-stirring experience.

Full Itinerary

Day 1: South Africa – Botswana (Khama Rhino Sanctuary)

Departing from Johannesburg and Pretoria we make our way north towards the border of Botswana. Your guide will stop off on route for breakfast (own cost). Once through the border it’s a short drive to our first destination Khama Rhino Sanctuary. Your guide will take you on a afternoon game drive through the sanctuary before settling down for the night

Day 2: Botswana (Chobe National Park)

Today we head further north through the Kasane forest where we always see herds of elephant, rare antelope and sometimes lion, hyena and wild dog. We will arrive mid morning in Kasane, where we will be staying on the shores of the Chobe River at Thebe River Lodge, at the gateway to the Chobe National Park. Here you can relax at the swimming pool overlooking the river, where you stand a good chance of seeing animals like elephant, buffalo and hippo, as well as a large variety of bird species. This afternoon we will go on a river cruise into Chobe National Park, well known for being one of the best river cruises in Africa.

Days 3, 4: Botswana – Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls)

After an early morning cup of coffee or tea and biscuits you will go on a morning game drive into Chobe National Park for around three hours, returning to camp for breakfast.

After breakfast a short drive takes us across the border and on to the adventure capital of Africa, Victoria Falls. On arrival your guide will assist you with the booking of your optional activities, before taking you to one of the seven natural wonders of the world - the magnificent Victoria Falls. The waterfall is 1700 meters (1.1 mile) wide, of which the majority is on the Zimbabwean side, including the main falls. Late afternoon we will do a sunset cruise on the 4th largest river in Africa (the Zambezi River), which has national parks on both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides of the river. All soft drinks, wine, beer and finger snacks are included in the cruise.

Day 4 is a free day for you to enjoy the many activities they offer in Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls is the place to be if you want some adrenalin activities, you can also visit the many markets in town or just relax for the day.

Day 5: Zimbabwe – Botswana (Elephant Sands)

Leaving Victoria Falls late morning we make our way back to Botswana and then down towards Nata. Our overnight stop is at Elephant Sands. Here you more than likely to see the elephants visiting the watering hole while you enjoying your dinner

Day 6: Botswana- South Africa

After a late breakfast we make our way south towards South Africa. Once across the border our camp is along the Limpopo river for the night where you can enjoy the last night under African skies.

Day 7: South Africa (Return to Johannesburg)

Today is the last day of the tour and your guide will have you back at the airport if you are catching a flight out of Johannesburg
