Information

Jeffreys Bay is home to the perfect wave! Widely known as the most popular and well-known surfing destination in South Africa (and one of the top in the world!), the town of Jeffreys Bay has become a must visit destination.

With its unique combination of friendly people, beautiful beaches, fantastic weather on most days, abundant shells on the beaches and relaxed lifestyle, anyone visiting here is in for a treat.

The JBay Winterfest in July each year is a major attraction when surfers from all over the world come to enjoy these flawless formations of rolling surf for a Championship Surfing competition.

Surfing is not all you can do in this town. The long beaches are perfect for exploring on horse-back or on foot. You can go for an interesting township tour to meet the locals, or simply relax at a local restaurant to enjoy “white gold” (calamari) which is abundant in the area.

As a well-known holiday destination, Jeffreys Bay has various accommodation options available to visitors. For the true “surfing experience”, be sure to investigate the local backpackers where you will find a great vibe even away from the beach.

Funky Town

Hotelier, James Hinton, took over this landmark property in 2012 and transformed his love for pop art and local art into what FunkyTown is today.
