Montagu is a peaceful town in the heart of Route 62 and also the starting point of another area known as the Little Karoo. Although small in size, this town has an incredible amount to offer to tourists of all interest groups.
Montagu has incredible rock formations in close vicinity to the town which can be reached by either hiking or taking a short drive. These rock formations are also home to some very impressive caves in the area, of which Guano Caves are the most impressive. Activities such a abseiling, rock-climbing and hiking are a treat.
Perhaps one of the most impressive aspects of Montagu is its natural warm water springs. With various resorts you can choose from, you can experience the tranquil and relaxing natural pleasures in warm spring baths or pools. Many of the resorts have day passes, so it is not compulsory to book accommodation.
Various wine estates with beautiful vineyards surround the town, so wine tasting or a laid-back picnic is highly recommended.
Montagu is also a town with rich history as can be seen from the Cape Dutch architecture and many national monument status of various buildings found all over. A leisurely walk down the streets will definitely result in interesting finds such as local shops with dried fruits, arts and crafts stores and historic points of interest.
Other exciting activities include quad biking, fishing and the famous tractor ride on the Langeberg mountains with a potjiekos (delicious local cuisine) lunch at the end of the journey.

The Mzansi Experience offers a live booking environment to buy your tickets. It is important that you follow the correct steps to purchase your tickets, in order to be able to reserve your bus legs easily.
Buying your desired ticket is very simple. You simply go to our booking engine, select your desired ticket, provide your information required and then proceed to checkout or contact us for more information.
Our different ticket types
For your convenience, and to keep your travels within your budget, we have three different ticket types available:
Direct / Point-to-Point Ticket:
Simply book your ticket from one point to the next without hopping off in-between. Travel only within your current zone. Please note, compulsory overnight stops apply.
Hop-On Hop-Off Ticket:
Buy one ticket to travel one-way from your start to end point, with multiple stops in-between. Hop-on and hop-off at any point on this route. Or buy a return ticket to travel both ways. Please note, compulsory overnight stops apply.
Total Freedom with a Mzansi Travel Pass
Travel in any format, in any direction and any part of our route for the duration of your Mzansi Travel Pass. Options include 4 days, 7 days, 14 days and 21 days. Tickets are valid for the amount of days purchased after action (booking of first leg of your journey). Please note, compulsory overnight stops apply.
